Sunlight falling through a window onto a raw concrete wall

Overview

Lumen & Co. design quiet buildings in concrete, lime and timber, and their previous site buried them under awards and service lists. We cut it back to the work. Each project opens on a single photograph held for longer than feels comfortable, followed by drawings, a few measured sentences and a list of materials.

The grid follows the practice’s own 600 mm planning module, so text and images snap to the same rhythm as their drawings. Transitions are slow cross-fades that mimic light moving across a wall over an afternoon. The type is a narrow grotesque in two weights. Nothing animates unless it helps you read the building.
